Choose a checklist when you create a project

Who can do this

Owners, administrators and branch managers (a manager in their own branch), when the organisation has a checklist template. Every plan.

Open in GISweaver

Choose which of your organisation's checklist templates a new project starts with, or start it with an empty one.

  1. Open New project on Projects and fill in the form as in Create a project.
  2. Under Checklist, choose a template, None, or Start an empty checklist. If the organisation has a default template, it is already chosen.

None leaves the project without a checklist; Start an empty checklist adds one with no steps that you fill in after the project exists.

  3. Select Create project.

The new project opens with its Checklist tab beside Project, holding the steps you chose, all open.

What happens next

With None the project has no checklist yet, and you can add one later; see Add a checklist to a project.

If something goes wrong

  • No Checklist choice on the form. Your organisation has no checklist template, so nothing changes.
  • That checklist template is no longer available. A colleague retired the template while the form was open. Choose another, and select Create project again; the rest of the form keeps what you typed.

Details

Add steps to an empty checklist with Edit steps on the project's Checklist tab.

The choice is a copy of the steps. If the template changes later, this project does not; and if you change this project's steps, the template does not. See Change a project's checklist steps.

On a phone the form has the same choice.
