How sign-up works

This page explains three things the steps in Create your organisation do not.

Why the email can say two things

The first card answers the same way for every address, so it never tells anybody which addresses already have an account. What differs is the email. A new address gets a code, and an address that already has an account gets a note saying how to sign in. The card asks for a code only if the email has one.

Sign-up never pauses signing in

Starting a sign-up and Send the email again each have their own limit for your address and your network. Typing a code has its own limit for your network. None of them counts against signing in, so someone who follows the You already have a GISweaver account email and types the right password is signed in. While a limit is running, the card says Too many tries. Try again in the time left.

A referral code

With a referral code, the card may say what the referral programme gives your organisation, and asks whether the organisation that recommended you may see that you joined on its recommendation. The box starts unticked. The programme's reduction is shown, and given, only to organisations in India.
