Measurement¶
Measurement lives in the Workspace's Measure & model strip.
The tools¶

Terrain profile and Cut and fill appear only when the published release supplies the elevation data they need. Where it does not, they are not offered.
Earthwork¶
Earthwork is not a measurement. The product labels it what it is: a DEM-derived planning estimate. It is computed from a delivered elevation grid against a design elevation you choose (or the terrain mean), and it is for planning rather than for a quantity you would sign.
It reports:
- Cut above plane — material removed
- Fill below plane — material added
- Net balance — cut minus fill, with a direction: balanced at selected plane, surplus / export, or deficit / import
The net figure is a metric in the quantity panel with that direction caption beneath it, not a label drawn on the map. Cut and fill are drawn in fixed colours so the panel and the scene cannot disagree, and the estimate works in 2D as well as in the 3D volume mesh.
Units¶
Areas are reported in SI, stepping m² → ha → km² as the figure grows, and may carry an optional regional companion unit — acre, cent, guntha, gaj or ground — which you choose in Preferences. Lengths follow a different rule, switching to kilometres past a thousand metres.
Whether an area is a grid area or a ground area, and which survey coordinate reference system it was computed in, is stated with the figure. That distinction matters if the exported plan is going to be signed.
